Load and performance testing that simply works
Load test standards - DIN 66273 / ISO 14756
The main purpose of a load measurement is to ensure the quality of a
specified target system. Professional quality assurance, however,
requires dependable quality assurance procedures. DIN 66273, the
German industry standard since 1993, defines a precise approach to
such load measurements. Its application is a key ingredient to
ensuring the comparability and reliability of quality assurance
measures. However, DIN 66273 is generally considered to be complicated.
Simpleworks therefore developed a tool-supported technique. This approach
enables our customers to perform load tests that conform to DIN quality
requirements in a simple and cost-effective manner.
Defining a quantity structure
Perhaps the biggest challenge for a good load test is determining a
realistic load profile. Simpleworks has developed a tool allowing the
complexity of a scenario to be captured automatically and condensed down
to the vital core factors. This is especially viable when there is little
or no experience with user behaviour during productive operation. Beyond
that, our consultants are trained to identify (together with the
customer’s specialists, the data required for the simulation – namely on
the basis of professionally deduced information. This approach clearly
differentiates us from the competition. It’s normal for many load test
providers to establish the quantity structure without a precise
derivation and base decisions about subsequent measures on estimates.
In contrast, Simpleworks’ specially developed methodology enables us
to carry out realistic load tests that are comprehensible for the
customer and commercially justifiable from start to finish.
